Certified Sport Medicine Acupuncturist

Lyndsey is a Doctor of Acupuncture and a Certified Sport Medicine Acupuncturist. She specializes in the treatment of pain, orthopedic and sport injuries, neurological disorders and musculoskeletal complaints. She has supplemental training in orthopedic evaluation, manual muscle testing, advanced needling techniques and the study of anatomy through cadaveric dissection. She has completed the most advanced orthopedic and sport medicine acupuncture program available and acts as a TA (teachers assistant) for the program.

 Lyndsey is  currently expanding her career through the study of acupuncture in relation to neuroscience and neurobiology. This will allow for the specialized treatment of neurological disorders, migraines, traumatic brain injuries, concussions and vestibular disorders. 

​

Additionally, Lyndsey has been asked to submit a manuscript for a complementary and alternative medicine journal (Current Research in Complementary & Alternative Medicine), which will be published in 2024.

Sabrina is a Doctor of Acupuncture and a Certified Sport Medicine Acupuncturist. Having recently completed her training in the Sports Medicine Acupuncture program, she has been invited to take on the role of Teaching Assistant for the program. She specializes in treating pain, orthopedic and sports injuries, neurological disorders, and musculoskeletal complaints. Her extensive supplemental training includes orthopedic evaluation, manual muscle testing, advanced needling techniques, and a deep study of anatomy through cadaveric dissection.​

 Dr. Sabrina's treatments go beyond traditional acupuncture as she practices through the lens of sports medicine and doing thorough assessments prior to treatment. She also incorporates cupping, guasha, and massage to provide a more hands-on approach to leave her patients feeling relaxed and rejuvenated. 

​

Before becoming an acupuncturist, Dr. Sabrina was a massage therapist. She is passionate about her work and has a deep understanding of the human body.

Paiton is working towards the title of becoming a Certified Sport Massage Therapist. She has completed CSMTA's advanced sport massage therapy course and is working on her hours with the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL) and Western Canada Hockey League (WCHL) to become a sport fellow.

 

She has completed the 3000 hour Advanced Massage Therapy Diploma at Makami College during which receiving Honours of Distinction for overall performance, practical, and theory work.  Her areas of focus are: injury/sport rehabilitation , myofascial release, pre/post sports massage, deep tissue massage, Swedish relaxation massage, plantar fasciitis therapy, cupping therapy, graston technique, TMJD massage and pregnancy massage.

Eve has completed the Advanced Massage Therapy Diploma at Makami College during which receiving Honours of Distinction for overall performance, practical, and theory work.  Her areas of focus are: injury/sport rehabilitation , myofascial release, pre/post sports massage, deep tissue massage, Thai massage, cupping therapy,  and pregnancy massage. 

Eve has a particular interest in sports massage and Thai massage. She often incorporates a lot of stretching into her sessions and goes DEEP with pressure. Her patients and colleagues often comment on her bubbly personality and humor.

Sarah studied massage therapy and acupuncture at MacEwan University, and completed NAIT's personal training program prior to this. During her time at NAIT, Sarah played for the Ooks volleyball team. In 2014, Sarah suffered from compartment syndrome in her right leg, underwent ten surgeries and as a result has 30% muscle deficiency in her calve. This injury made her eligible to play on Canada's women's sitting volleyball team. She has attended the 2019 Parapan Am Games in Lima, the 2022 World Championships in Bosnia, the 2023 World Cup in Egypt, and the 2024 Paralympic Games in Paris. Her journey with compartment syndrome and her subsequent experiences with alternative health practitioners lead her to pursuing a career in complementary health.

Sarah has a keen interest in treating athletes, musculoskeletal and orthopaedic complaints due to her personal experiences with pain and history with competitive sports, and has been trained in orthopaedic evaluative testing, manual muscle testing, postural assessment, and advanced needling techniques. 

​

Holding a hybrid approach to her practice, Sarah integrates Eastern and Western Medicine during each session, as she keeps her roots in Traditional Chinese Medicine and has a passion for treating holistically. Because of this, Sarah is well versed in treating internal disharmonies such as digestive, respiratory, cardiovascular, genitourinary, endocrine, psychological and spiritual complaints.

Desiree is a registered massage therapist and yoga teacher. After beginning her journey as a fitness and yoga instructor, she quickly realized she wanted to further support her clients. She went on to graduate with honours from Vicars School of Massage Therapy. Desiree is additionally trained in cupping, hot stone, fascial stretch therapy, and functional range conditioning. An athlete herself, she understands the importance of taking care of your mind and body, and has a deep passion for sport medicine. Desiree specializes in working with equestrians and also enjoys working with active individuals, supporting them on their journey to health and wellness. 

When not at the massage table, you can find Desiree horseback riding, enjoying a fitness or yoga class, traveling, or at home on her acreage with her husband and fur family.

Born and raised in Sherwood Park, Dr. Taylor Jacula was heavily involved in competitive soccer. Throughout her soccer career she sustained several injuries which introduced her to the world of sport science and rehabilitation. She graduated with distinction from the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology degree. After graduating she worked as a kinesiologist, learning from and working closely with chiropractors and it was through that mentorship that her passion for chiropractic began. Dr. Jacula attended the University of Western States in Portland, Oregon graduating summa cum laude with both a Doctor of Chiropractic degree as well as a Bachelor of Science in Human Biology degree.

 

During her time at UWS, Dr. Jacula learned a variety of treatment techniques such as chiropractic manipulation/mobilization, soft tissue manipulation and exercise prescription. Through further continuing education courses, she has since been trained in techniques such as Active Release Technique (ART), instrument-assisted soft tissue manipulation (IASTM), cupping and taping. Dr. Jacula considers herself a life-long learner and jumps at any opportunity that helps her expand and improve her knowledge and skills to maintain a practice that is patient centred and evidence based.

Becky is a registered physiotherapist with almost a decade of experience in musculoskeletal practice. She strives to get to the root cause of her patient’s issues and her treatments are designed so that her patients can continue to excel in the activities that they love, whether they be high level sport or the enjoyment of day to day activity.

 

Becky is a strong advocate for self-care and movement in everyday life, she encourages her patients to seek physiotherapy treatment not only following injury, but also as a means of maintenance and injury prevention. Her treatment approach is one on one with her patients and includes manual therapy, acupuncture, movement re-education, functional mobility + strengthening and preventative rehabilitation.

Outside of the treatment room, Becky stays active by hiking, running, strength training and enjoying fitness classes around the city. She enjoys cooking, camping and is always on the hunt for the best local coffee shops + restaurants!
